Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declares that Scrutiny of the Draft State Budget for the Next Year is intentionally blocked

"Scrutiny of the Draft State Budget is intentionally blocked", - stated V.Lytvyn at the press conference in Dnipropetrovsk on Monday.

He stated that 33 members of the parliamentary Committee on Budget represent the CPU and the Lytvyn Bloc Factions, 7 "Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defense" Faction and "the rest representing two largest Factions fail to attend recent Committee´s meetings".

"The Party of Regions is not concerned with adoption of the budget, as such state of affairs provides extra reasons to criticize the political opponents, - stated V.Lytvyn. The other political force does not need the budget either, as its adoption will require responsibility for all the promises declared and fixed in the governmental resolutions, especially those appertaining to the increase of wages for certain groups of population".

"The situation is ironic: on the one hand, the Government requests to postpone scrutiny of the socio-economic development program for 2010 that shall be ratified before the Draft Budget is scrutinized; on the other hand, there are declarations that the budget will not be adopted", - stated V.Lytvyn.

The Head of the Parliament stated: "The budget issue will be scrutinized next week, no matter what resistance is offered". According to V.Lytvyn, deputy factions and People´s Deputies introduced more than 1 thousand amendments to the Draft Budget to be forwarded to the Government.

As it was reported, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stays with a working visit in Dnipropetrovsk region. Within the scope of the visit, V.Lytvyn will meet the personnel of "Vesta" international scientific and industrial corporation and residents of Mahdalynivka township.
